Make a Joyful noise.....

I was raised in a family where music was very important. My grandfather was a gospel songwriter, both my parents sing and have their whole lives. My brother, sister and I grew up in GISD and we were all in the choir. We were taught music and I am happy to say we can "sight read." That basically means we can look at music, find the key that it is in, and read/sing it in shape notes like Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti Do! Tyler has been so interested lately in learning new songs. He seems to really love to sing and is always asking for us to teach him a new song or sing a song with him that we already know. I just love hearing his voice. Some of the songs that we sing together are Rise and Shine, Zaccheaus, If You're Happy and you Know It, God Is So Good, Oh Be Careful Little Eyes, and This Little light of Mine. We have 4 or 5 CD's that we rotate through that we call Tyler's music. For those of you who know Ryan, he is very much into old gospel music, hymns, and Gaither quartet songs. Tyler has even been asking Ryan to teach him these songs which Ryan is all over. He loves the idea of Tyler knowing these songs and having them on his heart. I still have these songs on my heart from when I learned them as a little girl. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord! Psalm 100:1

Pretty blue church dress...

I just love this picture of her from behind. Walking is too soon in the near future which is probably a good thing seeing that I can't carry 2 babies at one time. Come on Haylee!

See my toofies?

Pretty girl, messy hair!

Love the little grin, looking like a big girl. :(

Look mom, I found Daddy. I guess I should have gotten more of him in the picture. I still love ya honey!

Where do my kids get those blue eyes from. Mine are green and Ryan's are very brown.

Priceless face.

Some fun in the sun

So this was Haylee's first swimming pool experience. She wasn't sure what to think but man was she adorable in her little swimsuit.

Tyler making big splashes as he slides down the slide.

I have kept Haylee in her baby tub because the kids bathtub has sliding doors and it is hard to get on your knees and reach while bathing kiddos and not to mention I have a baby due in 3 months which makes things a little uncomfortable to bend over the tub like that. So, she hasn't had free range of moving/crawling around in the water yet. She wasn't too sure about it and a little scared.

Look how big the swimming pool looks with her in it, or I guess how little she looks in the swimming pool or how tall daddy is taking this picture. Wow!

Tyler absolutely loved having her in the pool with him. Once she started shivering and her lips were turning a little blue I thought now is a good time to get her out. He was not happy and begged for her to stay! Sweet bubba loves his sister!

One last pose in her cute little Gap swimsuit from the resale shop! :)

I was reminded yesterday.......

why Tyler doesn't take naps. He fell asleep at about 2pm or so and this is how I found him. Poor baby, his shorts are all worked up and his spider man undies are showing. Still cute to me. I couldn't leave him like that but I sure cant carry him to his bed being 26 weeks pregnant so I gave him a pillow and decided to let him sleep. It was a good time of the day if he was going to take a nap not too close to dinner and bedtime.

This is after I got him rearranged. No matter how old he gets, he is still the same sweet baby boy in my eyes. Just a little stinkier! He slept til about 4:00 or so and man was he mad at the world. This is why I stopped giving him naps. We have are moments throughout the days but nothing like his attitude when he wakes up. He wont do this when he just falls asleep in the car but a nap at the house ruins the rest of the day.

So when he slept til 9am this morning I knew that that nap didn't do much for him. He sleeps til 8:30 or 9 and sometimes close to 10am every morning anyways. So I don't feel as guilty for not making him take a nap. Although I would love some quiet personal time for just me, I don't want to have a disagreeable child the rest of the day!

Another game of tag

I hope you guys aren't tired of these yet. It's fun to get to know everyone better. I was tagged, so here you go:

10 years ago:
I was 20 years old and was not dating anyone! I guess you could say I was taking a break from all the wrong guys and hopefully waiting on the right one! I was really involved in our church's singles group. We had what we called Greenhouse on Friday nights which was basically a time of fellowship with Coffee bar and a bunch of bean bags and pillows! It seemed we spent all the other nights going to the Lake, park, out to eat, karaoke, or just hanging out at someone's house. I enjoyed these days and made some of the friends I now call my best friends including getting back in touch with Ryan who is now my hubby.

Things on my to-do list today:
Take a shower
Do more laundry
Wash dishes/bottles
Clean house in general
Play with and take care of kiddos
Water plants and flowers
Call Verizon (ugh...always a beating)
Make dinner and eat it
Put kids to bed
Work on our womens bible study

What would I do if I was suddenly became a Billionaire?
Make sure to give the right portion for tithe. Pay off all my bills. Get rid of my Camry and get a car that will fit my 3rd child. Buy a house that would fit a family of 5 better. Take a much needed trip to somewhere outside of DFW area. Go on some mission trips ( I've always wanted to do so but haven't had the vacation time or I'm always preggo and money is always an issue)

Three of my bad habits:
1. Twirling my hair
2. biting the inside of my cheek, I get this from my mom
3. Eating something sweet in the middle of the night

Five jobs I have had:
1. Medical Records Clerk
2. Cashier/Customer Service
3. Receptionist
4. Office Manager
5. Billing Specialist

Five things people don't know about me:
1. I used to not like to be alone and now since that never happens, I can't wait for alone time.
2. I didn't put it down but I worked at Wet n Wild for one day. (they put me in the concession area and I wanted to be in the water) I just never went back. Typical teenager.
3. I've never broken a bone in my body. ( but my hubby more than makes up for me, he has broken both arms twice, all of his fingers, both wrists, his ankle, and his back.)
4. I was titled Mrs. Personality when I was little and a captain in my drill team. Picture was in the Rowlett newspaper.
5. I have not been out of Texas since my honeymoon. Almost 7 years ago my last trip was to Colorado.

Now I tag: Brooke , Sheila, Deanna, Laura, Stashia and Christi

Hair Bows....Yay!

I think every mom gets excited when they can finally put hair bows in their daughter's hair.
Well, I have found how to tame the Elvis hair.

She has this longer patch on top that is growing so much faster than the rest and it is enough to stay in a bow.

She hates for me to mess with it but once it's in there she doesn't notice it I guess.

Try to beat me...Name the 50 states! I could have been so much faster if I could type faster!

Swim Day

Well, I finally pulled out the old swimming pool. We bought this for Tyler when he was 2 and have only used it one time, when he was TWO. It is really a pain to blow up if you can't tell. I have some wonderful neighbors that have a air compressor and he came over this morning to blow it up for Tyler. That is the way to go man he had that thing done in 5 minutes. When Tyler was 2 I blew it up with a pump. It took about 1 hour!

Sliding down the slide!

This hippo sprays water out of his mouth and Tyler was having fun getting it all over his face.

He is actually supposed to throw the ball through the ring attached to the giraffe. He liked making the balls slide better. I guess we lost the rings that you are supposed to throw onto the elephant's trunk. Fun little pool and a hot day for Tyler to cool off!

Take me out to the ball game

So, Tyler got his first experience of "Take me out to the ballgame" on Saturday night. We got some wonderful tickets from Ryan's company to the Frisco RoughRiders Baseball game that included dinner (hamburgers and hotdogs), a free Roughriders hat and each of us were give $10 in "Deuce Dollars" to spend. We took Tyler and he had a blast. This was his 1st time to a "big" baseball game. He saw the man that carries the cotton candy and he shouted "marshmallows". I told him that it was actually Cotton Candy and he begged for some! So with his "deuce dollars" he got to buy blue cotton candy. He also wanted peanuts but I knew he would take a few bites and be done with it. So next was dippin dots also a first! He loved them as well. He really enjoyed all the dancing by the mascot and the races and the 7th inning stretch where he got to sing "the song!" I was so upset I forgot to take my camera so you will just have to use your imagination.

just a picture from the website....we had a great time!

Smart Shopper

I left the room for a little bit and came back to find her searching through some of mommy's coupons. She is already a smart shopper.

Just a quick cute story, I made a special trip the other day by my parents house on the way to Target to get a coupon for Pampers. I needed formula and Target had diapers on sale and since I get her formula there because of the "value size" I just swung by to get the $2 off coupon. I had put the coupon under her leg in her car seat and (you see where this is going) she found it. I was too busy shopping and wasn't watching her and the next thing I looked over and she was eating my coupon. I told her you just ate $2 dollars. Oh well soon she will be a smart shopper! ;)

Will the real Elvis please stand up?

Haylee's hair is growing out and is getting a little wild. It is still too thin for bows to stay in but too wild that I have to do something to it! This is what it looked like when I got her up from her nap the other day. It cracked me up! Bless her heart, she had no clue what I was laughing so hard at.

Not sure why mommy is laughing so hard.

Just a little thicker and some side burns she'd be able to impersonate.

Okay, mommy will put the camera up!

Haylee's Dedication

So we got to dedicate Haylee on Mother's Day. It was really special. She was just perfect and didn't fuss one bit. All of her family was there and we had a wonderful day on Mother's Day.

This is pastor Steve presenting her with her verse. Her verse was James 1:17
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." One of my favorite verses. She is a gift from God and Ryan and I will do our best to provide a Godly home for her and the other kids.

The Kiss!

They have so much fun when they play together.

Tyler is trying to get her to kiss the baby in the mirror like she always does but she was more interested in him...

She loves him so much she would rather just kiss him.

He loved it too

Spring is in the air!

These are some begonias Ryan and I planted about a month ago. We haven't ever really planted flowers before so we weren't sure how they would turn out. These are in the front of the house and seem to be doing pretty good.

Some are doing better than others I guess.

This is one of 4 Hydrangea bushes we inherited when we bought the house. I enjoyed these so much last summer. I guess because of all the rain we had, there were tons of blooms. There doesn't seem to be as many this year but here is a picture of a few that are blooming now.

They start out kinda this pale green and then once they are fully bloomed they are white with pink tips. So pretty. I had enough last year to make several beautiful bouquets.

This is a beautiful rose bush that was also inherited and is in full bloom right now.

I actually cut it back this spring b/c last year I didn't know what to do with them so when the roses came in they were so long and heavy they just laid on the ground.

This happens to be a Magnolia bloom off of my neighbors Magnolia tree. I believe it is about 50 years old and is so big it comes over to our yard almost. The smell is amazing.

Haylee's 1st Pedicure

Haylee is being dedicated on Sunday and I thought I would paint her toes since she would be wearing sandals. So this is the first color she picked up out of my collection of nail polish....Electric Strawberry! Oh no Haylee, daddy would not like that. We needed something more mellow.

So I started off with a color called Watermelon, just a pale pink. She wanted to crawl immediately and I did a horrible job so I needed to plan better for the next time. So after her nap I took off the Watermelon and decided to change.

To Peaches and Creme. I fed her a bottle and started then. I got her to sit in my lap for about 15 minutes is all she could stand.

They looks so much better. Sweet little dainty feet!
